Pavement Pounders and The Folkestone Triennial
Newsletter May2011
We are pleased to announce that we shall be working for and with The Triennial, The Triennial Fringe and beyond
Pride of Place
Three parts of our Four part Pride of Place project are integral to our work for the Folkestone Triennial. Bizarre Crossings a visual arts and oral history project is being presented as a Fringe event with two workshops and an exhibition at UCF. The Triennial’s ‘Folkestone Fridays’ merges with our harbour guided walk. Transitions a collection of writing will be published at the end of the Triennial.
Progress on the whole Pride of Place Project and future plans will be showcased at The Creative Foundation’s pop up shop in the Old High Street in September.
We need your help. Thank you to all those who have kindly offered to be interviewed for our oral history project. If you have not heard from us yet. You soon will. Meanwhile, we want to hear from anyone with memories of the heyday of the Folkestone open air swimming pool and the Rotunda.
Folkestone Fridays
Free lunchtime tours every Friday throughout the Triennial led on alternate Fridays by art critic Pryle Behrman and David and Maryanne of Pavement Pounders. The Pavement Pounders Tours, a mixture of local history and discussion of the Triennial art works will be based in the harbour and Creative Quarter. Each of the six will be different.
